Rego Mate – Privacy Policy
Rego Mate (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a Shopify app that lets store owners offer vehicle registration lookups and product matching. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
2. Information we collect
From merchants (store owners)

Shop domain, account details, and OAuth tokens when you install the app

Plan choice, billing period, and usage

Settings such as lookup countries (e.g. Australia, New Zealand)

Product and metafield data used for vehicle fitment matching
From store visitors (end customers)
When a visitor uses Rego Search or the “Does this fit your car?” block:

Vehicle registration number entered for lookup

Vehicle data returned from the lookup (make, model, year, etc.)

We do not collect names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, or payment details
3. How we use information

To perform vehicle registration lookups and match products to vehicles

To run the app (billing, limits, and usage tracking)

To provide support and improve the app
4. Third-party services

Shopify – Used for authentication, session management, and access to product and metafield data.

Hosting – The app is hosted on Render. Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database.
5. Data retention

Shop settings, usage counts, and lookup records are retained while the app is installed.

When a store uninstalls, we delete their shop settings and lookup records.
6. Your rights

Merchants manage their data through the Shopify admin and can uninstall the app to stop further processing.

Store visitors’ data requests are handled via Shopify’s GDPR/CCPA webhooks; we do not retain customer PII (email, name, address).
We use standard industry practices for access control, encryption in transit, and secure storage.
